Using concrete resources

One of the resources which we use quite a lot in Year 1 are 10 frames. Here are some examples of how we first started using 10 frames. We now know that we only put one object in each box so 10 frames can only hold 10 items. Recently we have been comparing numbers past 10 and talking about how we can partition the number. e.g. 10 and 6 make sixteen and 10 and 1 make eleven. 6 is bigger than 1 therefore 16 is bigger than 11.
