Welcome to Chestnut Class

Home Learning Resources

6th July 2020

Hello Chestnut Class,

For those of you who are back into school, I'd like to say welcome back. I hope you are settling back into your routine and working really hard for Mr Sheerin, Mrs Gallagher and Mr Halsall. We are now only a few weeks away from the end of term were you will be moving into Oak class with Mr Sheerin and Mrs Murray. How exciting!

For those of you still at home, how has your week been? I haven't received many trophy images which is disappointing! I was hoping to see you using your imagination and creativity to design a trophy. If you have managed to complete one, remember to send it to Mrs Mason who will then forward this on so I can see.

This week we managed to retain our status of top of the school on Spelling Shed! Well done to those of you who have accessed this. The children who are in school can still access these spelling challenges to help reinforce your learning and improve your spelling. We again have the two highest scorers in the whole school. Well done Mya who was at the top this week and Aidin (Again!). I have set up another couple of challenges that link to the sounds you have already learned so we can all access this to help us become even better. This week on TT Rockstars I have set up extra challenges. This week we are challenging Year 3 again (They beat us this week!) but also Year 2.

You should still be accessing the lessons on either Oak National Academy or BBC Bitesize.

BBC Bitesize are looking at splitting things into half. Can you remember what that means? (Sharing it equally between two groups!) We have had a look at that in school so you should be amazing with that! It is also looking at verbs in English. What is a verb? (It is a doing or action word) Again, we have covered this in school so have a look and try your best please.

Keep up the good work, miss you all lots!

Stay safe,

Mr Otten
