Sketchbooks
In Year 3 sketchbooks should demonstrate how children take the time to reflect upon what they like and dislike
about their work in order to improve it (for instance they think carefully before explaining to their teacher what they like and what they will do next).
In Year 4 sketchbooks should demonstrate how children regularly reflect upon their own work, and use comparisons with the work of others (pupils and artists) and identify what they need to do next to improve.
In Year 5 sketchbooks should demonstrate how children regularly analyse and reflect on their progress, taking account of what they hoped to achieve.
In Year 6 sketchbooks should provide a reasoned evaluation of both their own and work of professionals, which takes account starting points, intentions and context behind the work.
