Within our Autumn Geography topic of ‘What would Dora love about Liverpool?’ the children were given the opportunity to take a walk around the local area. The short walk focused on looking at the geographical features within the locality. On Wednesday 17th October, we walked around the local area taking the time to label the different features onto a local map using a key and symbols. We had a focus on how people both help and harm our local area. We discussed the purpose of speed bumps, road signs, plenty of trees and safety railings being positioned at all entrances to our school. We then finished our walk by walking over to the canal and discussed different features that are in place at the canal to keep the children safe.
