After completing my degree at Liverpool John Moores University, I felt passionate about wanting to support other people in to Higher Education. I have worked at LJMU since 2008 when I joined the recruitment team. I have 11 years experience of visiting schools and colleges and supporting young people in to university. For the past 7 years I have had some responsibility for supporting primary schools with activities from the university. I found it very rewarding to welcome children on to the campus who often had no understanding of university or few family members who had entered Higher Education.
After moving in to Sefton in 2018 I decided I would like to support a local primary school in order to settle in to the community, learn more about the primary education system and see how I could help children with my experiences. I was delighted to be asked to join the governing body in January 2019 and look forward to supporting the school over my term.
