My name is Sylvia Allibone and I am a Parent Governor at Lander Road.
I have been part of the governors for 7 years since my nephew (who I am a guardian of) was in reception class, and since then I have had 5 other nephews and nieces join the school. Being a governor means I have a better understanding of the schools policies and I have had the opportunity to build a good relationship with the staff
I am also involved with Seaforth children’s centre’s parent forum. I find these groups very informative and are helpful to find out about local issues, courses and groups that may be beneficial.
I am an avid reader and enjoy both factual or fictional books, I also like to watch documentaries on
TV and have an interest in Egyptology.
I volunteer at a weekly lunch club at the Caradoc Mission which gives me the opportunity to talk to some of the older members of the community and also some of the other parents that attend the Seaforth Children's Centre.
If you need to contact the Chair of Governors or another member of the Governing Body, please do so through the school office by popping into reception or calling 0151 922 5760.
