Standards and Quality Committee

The Standards and Quality Committee has the main responsibility for monitoring and reviewing

the progress and attainment of our children, particularly in reading, writing and Mathematics. We

do this through termly monitoring, looking at pupil progress information through school data and

records. We also undertake ‘learning walks’ to find out about the way the children learn, which

include talking to groups of children about their learning.

The Standards and Quality Committee also considers:

  • Reports from the Headteacher on the quality of teaching and support for pupil learning
  • How well the school supports staff to develop through undertaking further training
  • How the school provides a broad and balanced curriculum, including meeting the requirements of the National Curriculum
  • What partnerships the school works with to enhance what they do

If you need to contact the Chair of Governors or another member of the Governing Body, please do so through the school office by popping into reception or calling 0151 922 5760.
