This year, all of the children in our school are developing their thinking skills through a new approach to learning called, Philosophy for Children. Through these sessions children are encouraged to create their own philosophical questions through enquiry, dialogue and shared reflection. These lessons not only develop their creative and critical thinking skills, but they also allow children the opportunity to discuss topical, relevant and global issues. These valuable sessions have already allowed children to improve their thinking and communication skills. Year 5 have carried out enquiries on subjects such as social media, British values and the use of technology.
