Within our Autumn Geography topic of ‘What would Dora love about Liverpool?’ the children were given the opportunity to take a walk around the local area. The short walk focused on looking at the geographical features within the locality. On Monday 9th October, we walked around the local area taking the time to label the different features onto a local map using a key and symbols. We then finished our walk by sketching an area of the Leeds to Liverpool canal through our viewfinders. The children really enjoyed this trip and gained lots of valuable information about how people both help and harm our local area.
“We used our maps to mark things we had seen on our walk around the local area.”
“We walked along the canal and sketched what we could see!”
“We sketched what we could see through our viewfinder!”
