On Wednesday 14th November, both Chestnut and Oak class took part in Film Festival 2018. This allowed the children to enjoy a trip to the Showcase cinema along with several other schools to watch Ferdinand. The children took along with them a drink and some sweets! They had a wonderful time and all children enjoyed their morning out of school watching the film.
The children then used the film Ferdinand as a stimulus to have a wonderful discussion during their Philosophy 4 Children lesson. They picked out a range of themes from the film and decided on one to focus on. They produced the question ‘Is it better in a team or on your own?’ This topic had lots of higher-level thinking and discussion. Well done Year 2!
